children photography

Designed for adventurous children from toddling age to about six or seven, these sessions are full-on and seriously fun. I’ll meet you at one of your favourite outdoor spots (or I can suggest one of my own favourites) and we’ll spend a lovely, relaxed few hours together creating some really magical images. Running, jumping, splashing in puddles, attempting to scale trees, you (and most importantly, your kids) will love it. Let’s get a photoshoot booked in today.

Sister Photo Shoot in Purple Heather Flowers

Sister Photo Shoot in Purple Heather Flowers

The pink and purple heather flower look beautiful in August and September and grow so well in the acidic Berkshire soil. So it was lovely to hear from a local mum on Instagram who had spotted a beautiful display of heather plants and wanted a sibling photo shoot of her daughters.

We spent some time discussing the location and the outfits the sisters should wear on the photo shoot. At the beginning of Autumn the weather was still warm so we decided on simple white matching dresses that the girls already owned.

These two sisters were full of energy and excitement on the photo shoot. Within 5 minutes I was giving them piggybacks through the purple heather flowers where we stopped to play games and tell jokes (psst. watch my new favourite joke here).

Anna is simply brilliant! She worked effortlessly with my girls, even when their behaviour was a little tricky!! We had such a blast on the shoot, the girls enjoyed Anna’s company and were at ease with her literally from the off. She is warm and kind and understands children!!

The photos are just amazing too! Capturing the spirit of my cheeky daughters and also their charming side too.

Delighted. Absolutely delighted.

I also have a thing about ferns. Well not a thing. But I really love shooting in them. And at this time of the year they start changing colour. All the texture, shapes and autumn colour make them the perfect backdrop for individual portraits. Check them out in the gallery below!

P.S. If you fancy a walk in the pink and purple heather plants Finchampstead Ridges is the perfect place to go in August and September.

Lower Earley Sibling Photo Shoot

Lower Earley Sibling Photo Shoot

I first met the lovely Surupa and Carl 6 years ago at an NCT class in Lower Earley 30 weeks into pregnancy with our first babies. We had lovely round bumps and absolutely no idea what parenthood had in store for us. Fast forward 6 years, another two kiddies and many many walks, slices of cake and fizz Fridays and we found ourselves all together for a sibling photo shoot on a little country hill in Lower Earley.

This family is such a joy to be around. For as long as I’ve known them laughter and smiles follow them wherever they go. And today was no different. We had a brilliant couple of hours chasing each other over the hills, having tickling fights in the long grass and reminiscing about when the kiddies were so small we could carry them with one arm.

But the really lovely part of this session was capturing the special relationship between these two siblings, Reece and Amiya. Super close one minute and then pulling faces at each other the next these two have the best relationship.

Anna was great with the children, playing games and directing them, managing to capture beautiful pictures of them individually and together. It’s going to be a challenge for us to pick our favourites!! Many thanks to Anna for our wonderful pictures 🙂

Thanks so much Surupa and Carl for asking me to document this special sibling bond for you. Gappy teeth and bouncing pigtails sums up this sibling photo shoot perfectly. Let’s do it again in another 6 years before they turn into teenagers!

Farnham Common Dance Photographer

Farnham Common Dance Photographer

Ok so you know I love to photograph children and families, and dancing to music in fields at festivals is my happy place. So when Jema messaged me to ask if we could do an outdoor dance photo shoot of her daughter, Tayia at Burnham Beeches near Farnham you can imagine my excitement. An opportunity to combine my two favourite things. My dreams of becoming a dance photographer were coming true!

And then lockdown hit. We had to put our plans on hold and hope Tayia didn’t grow out of her beautiful dance costumes. Yep we’re talking sequins, tassels and fairy wings – enough to give Strictly Come Dancing a run for its money. But the extra time gave me the opportunity to research dance photography poses and talk to some of the pros in the industry – thank you Anne-Sophie Photography for all the hints and tips!

Back to the star of the show, Tayia. She’s an incredibly talented dancer perfecting her talents with Orchard Dance Academy and even during lockdown has been dancing every day. It was such a privilege to watch her dance through the lens of my camera. I have to admit I forgot to hit the shutter button a few times as I got so captivated watching her dance.

“From the first Facebook enquiry to the actual shoot day, Anna kept in touch with me and kept us fully informed. Unfortunately we had to cancel due to lockdown but Anna was back in touch once it was safe to do so and even offered to wear a mask. She kept her safe distance throughout the shoot. My daughter and I had the best day all thanks to Anna who made my daughter feel so comfortable. Anna is so professional and I am already thinking of booking another shoot for the rest of my family. Thank you for helping us make truly amazing memories.”

Oh and did I mention we nearly got stampeded by wild horses? Check out the best of my dance photo shoot outtakes at the end!

Jumping out of the way of wild horses and piggyback rides over bogs, all for that perfect shot. This is what my dream client looks like!
